That depends mainly on what you want to use the light for, how large the area is and whether a mobile or stationary solution matters to you.
- For larger areas of the body and particularly flexible use, our Gen panels are the right choice.

A larger device isn't automatically better. What matters is how large the area is that you want to illuminate regularly.
For individual areas such as the knees, neck, hands or shoulders, a compact device is often enough. If you want to illuminate several or larger areas of the body, a panel is more convenient: it covers more surface at once and needs repositioning less often during a session.
In short: Compact devices are ideal for targeted use. Panels save time and are better suited to large-area or versatile use.
Classic infrared heat lamps mainly work through intense heat. heilys® devices, on the other hand, use carefully selected wavelengths from the red and near-infrared light range.
Depending on the product, the wavelengths and functions are tailored to specific applications – for example larger areas of the body, facial skin, the workplace or evening lighting. A pleasant warmth may develop during use. However, this is a side effect and is not comparable with the intense heat of a classic heat lamp.
How quickly you notice changes depends on your goal, the product you choose and your individual response.
Some people notice a pleasant feeling of warmth, relaxation or fresher-feeling skin early on. Changes in your complexion or longer-term effects on recovery and well-being often take several weeks of regular use.
So what matters is not the longest or most intense session possible, but a consistent routine. Results may vary from person to person. heilys® products are not medical devices and do not replace medical treatment.

The right duration depends on the device, the distance and the area of the body being illuminated. For many products, a session is roughly in the range of 5 to 20 minutes per body area.
It's best to start with shorter sessions and a moderate intensity. If you tolerate it well, you can adjust your use in line with the product recommendation. Regularity is usually more important than particularly long sessions – because more light doesn't automatically lead to better results.

When used as intended, red and near-infrared light are generally well tolerated. Nevertheless, always follow the instructions for the respective product.
We recommend consulting a doctor before use if, for example, you are pregnant, take photosensitising medication, have pronounced sensitivity to light or an existing medical condition, or have medical implants.
Open, weeping, severely irritated or acutely inflamed areas of skin should not be illuminated directly. Stop using the device if it feels uncomfortable or if any unexpected discomfort occurs.
That depends on the product and the area of use. For particularly bright devices, use on the face or if you have sensitive eyes, we recommend wearing the protective goggles supplied. Alternatively, for many applications you can simply keep your eyes closed.
As a general rule, you should not look directly into the LEDs. Separate usage instructions apply to devices such as the Vision Mode of the Gen30+ Vision or the FaceMask, as they were specially developed for use on or around the face. So please always follow the recommendation on the relevant product page.
Delivery within the EU is currently free of charge. You have a 30-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the goods. For a standard withdrawal, you bear the direct cost of returning the goods; in the case of a confirmed defect, heilys® covers the return costs.
In addition, guarantee periods of two to five years apply, depending on the product. heilys® provides a five-year guarantee on the Gen series panels. You can find the applicable guarantee on the product page.
